Last week I enjoyed a restorative and inspiring Mindfulness, Art and Creative Writing experience in the Mt. Coot-tha Botanical Gardens.   Under the guidance of Jane Abercrombie and Leslie Kendall, a group of five of us spent five hours walking mindfully, being aware of the plants, trees, water, seeds, birds…. through all of our senses. We did a couple of writing exercises and sketched, finishing with a beautiful, very large mandala of pods, leaves and all types of extraordinarily designed pieces of nature. I don’t know if this group will be repeated but if so, I’d highly recommend it.   Lesley is artist in residence at the Botanical Gardens this year and her blog is beautiful and inspiring.
